Orchard Peach Cake

Sliced Cling Peaches

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1-1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup of plain yogurt
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. grated orange peel (optional)
  • 1 jar (26 oz.) DEL MONTE® Orchard Select® Sliced Cling Peaches, well drained

Preparation

  1. Mix flour, sugar and butter; stir in nuts. Place 2-1/3 cups of mixture into ungreased 13x9-inch pan.
  2. To remaining crumb mixture, add egg, yogurt, salt, soda and orange peel; mix well.
  3. Spoon mixture evenly over base; place peaches on top. Sprinkle with a mixture of 2 tablespoons brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon, if desired.
  4. Bake at 350°F, 35 minutes or until tests done. Cut into squares; top with ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
